Measures of Management in Safety Evaluation of Agricultural Trans-genetic Biology
Title of Laws, Regulations, or Judiciary Interpretation: Measures of Management in Safety Evaluation of Agricultural Trans-genetic Biology Promulgating Organ: The Ministry of Agriculture Date of Promulgation: Jan 5, 2002 Date of Implementation: Mar 20, 2002 Applicable Scope: Activities dealing with the study, experiment, production, processing, management and import-export of trans-genetic agriculture within the territory of the People's Republic of China Major Contents: These measures evaluate the danger or potential risks constructed by agricultural trans-genetic biology towards human beings, animals and plants, microorganisms and ecological environment. The Ministry of Agriculture has set up an Office of Safety of Agricultural Trans-genetic Biology, undertaking the safety evaluation control. These measures stipulate that agricultural trans-genetic biology safety is to implement categorized evaluation control, stipulating the procedures of declaration and examination and approval for the organizations and individuals dealing with the study, experiment, import, production and processing of agricultural trans-genetic biology safety, stipulating the basic conditions and their missions in liabilities to be equipped, stipulating that agricultural administrative competent authorities of the People's Government above county level are to be responsible for the supervision control of agricultural trans-genetic biology safety and safety supervision measures within their respective administrative districts.
