Law of the People’s Republic of China on Compulsory Education
Title: Law of the People’s Republic of China on Compulsory Education Promulgating Organ: The Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Date of Promulgation: June 29, 2006 Date of Implementation: September 1, 2006 Applicable Scope: Compulsory education. Major Contents: The Law regulates that the State exercises a compulsory educational system of nine year. The Law also stipulates that the State shall establish the guarantee system of educational expenditure to ensure the implementation of the system of compulsory education. The Law provides that people’s governments above county level shall be responsible for the implementation of compulsory education as well. In this Law, it is still regulated that schools may not collect fee in violating the provisions of the State. |
