Regulations of Protection of the Olympic Logo
Title of Laws, Regulations, or Judiciary Interpretation: Regulations of Protection of the Olympic Logo Promulgating Organ: The State Council Date of Promulgation: Feb 4, 2002 Date of Implementation: Apr 1, 2002 Applicable Scope: Users of the Olympic Logo for Commercial Purposes Major Contents: These Regulations stipulate the concept and scope of commercial use of the Olympic logo, stipulating that local industry and commerce administrative department of the State Council and local industry and commerce administrative department above county level will be responsible for the protection of the Olympic logo throughout the country and in various administrative areas respectively; the industry and commerce administrative department of the State Council will be responsible for the filing and publication of the Olympic logo, stipulating the filing system with the industry and commerce administrative department of the State Council for the contract of use of the Olympic logo. These Regulations also stipulate the conduct of infringement and punishment. It is also exceptionally stipulated that liabilities for compensation will not be imposed on sales of products which unknowingly infringes the copyright of the Olympic logo, and must be able to certify that such products have been legally obtained with explanation of sources where such products have been obtained from. |
